Erik Abbink - Saxophone and Clarinet Lessons VictoriaWeekly Recorder Lessons

The recorder is an excellent instrument to start and develop your musicallity, and lessons can be taken by students as young as six years of age. I enjoy inspiring students by providing a personalized approach to learning and playing. My goal is to share the joy of performing, no matter what level the student is at.

I enjoy teaching students of all ages. I also teach clarinet to beginning and intermediate students, and saxophone to students of all levels.

Suzuki method

Suzuki Recorder LessonsFor beginning students I make use of the Suzuki method for Recorder, an excellent way of learning the fundamentals of music while playing the recorder. For intermediate students I adapt the lessons to meet the skills, talents, and specific interests of the student. I encourage independent learning, and my lessons are designed to stimulate the student's self-confidence.

Performance Opportunities & Exams

Student concerts are held twice a year (January and June), and all students are invited to perform. Students are also encouraged to take exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music and to participate in the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival.

Where?

I am currently teaching privately in Fairfield (903 Collinson Street). You can also sign up for lessons through the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
